Chapter 1- The Beginning

Rune and Liz stared at the front of the Ouran Academy. Rune, medium length blonde haired girl with piercing blue eyes, pulled out her PDA and started searching through it. “It seems Star and Elle will be here in a few minutes. Jenna and Princess are supposed to be here already…”

“I wonder where they…” Liz put her hands on her hips as she bent over to look around for the two girls.

“Rune! Lizzy!” A squeal came from their right. They saw a small girl with black hair in two buns and blackish brown eyes running in a yellow dress towards them.

“Princess.” Liz, a shorter girl then Rune with two large red haired pigtails and hazel eyes, said with a smile. She leaned back and held out her arms.

Princess leaped onto Rune, hugging her. Rune stiffened as she glared at Princess with her evil side glance. “Princess…” Princess ignored the glare as she snuggled closer, rubbing her cheek against Rune’s.

Liz sidestepped towards them and ripped Princess off Rune. She pulled Princess onto herself. She smiled as she looked down at the seemingly young girl. “Where’s Jenna?” she asked.

Princess paused, looking up at Liz innocently. Her eyes looked like a giant puppy’s as she pouted out her lips. “She was behind me when we saw you.”

There was heavy breathing coming up from the shadows. Liz and Princess screamed, diving behind Rune, shivering.

Liz’s eyes grew wide. “It’s an evil witch! Or maybe it’s a rich ghost that died many years ago from falling off a giant building because their parents lost all their money from bankruptcy and so they decided that they should just kill themselves then have to be poor because that’s what I would do. I would rather die than be poor for the rest of my life.”

Rune frowned hard as she rolled her eyes, she shoved Liz back. Liz fell onto her butt as Princess leapt from her arms. She landed next to Rune, smiling. Rune ignored the commotion as she looked into the shadows. “You okay, Jenna?” she asked, sounding mildly concerned.

A girl with short blonde hair slouched out of the shadows.  Jenna couldn’t speak, she just took heavy breaths. After a few minutes, she stood to her full height. “I’m good, Princess ran off and I ran after her, but damn, she’s fast,” she replied.

Liz jumped up and grabbed Princess, throwing her in the air and then holding her close. She turned her head to the girl in her arms. “I’m still shocked you’re a first year.”

Princess rubbed her face against Liz’s smiling. A large growl came from her stomach causing Liz to jump and Jenna’s jaw to drop.

Pain crossed Princess’ face as she looked into Liz’s eyes. “I’m hungry.” She leaned back and pouted as she held onto her stomach.

Rune raised an eyebrow.  “Didn’t you guys eat those meals on the plane?”

Princess’ eyes filled with tears. “But I’m hungry!” she howled as she began to cry.

Everybody freaked, sweat ran down Rune’s neck, Liz eyes grew as her mouth formed a large “o”, and Jenna panicked as she dug through her bag for something for Princess.

“Here, have my muffin,” Jenna offered pulling out a large blueberry muffin from her bag. “I was saving it for lunch, but you can have it.”

Princess smiled, opening her mouth and ate it in one bite. Liz and Jenna’s jaw dropped. Princess chuckled as she slipped from Liz grip and held her hand tightly, refusing to let go.

Rune felt something on her head, looking up, she saw a frog. She used her left hand to grab it and throw it. Star and Elle, two tall twins with brown hair in braids on opposite sides of their heads, walked around to the front of the group.

“You’re no fun, Rune-Chan,” they said in tune. Rune glared evilly at the twins causing them to quiver behind Jenna.

Liz smiled. “Come on, let’s be off!” She pointed a finger to the clock tower. “To the future beyond our wildest dreams; a future that will give us a new beginning in new place; a future…”

“Are you just going to give us a speech or are you coming?” Star and Elle yelled from the door.

Liz slumped over and dragged her feet to the group. Princess pulled on Liz’s hand, trying to get her to go faster. With Liz dragging behind in a depressed slump, they made their way to the office.

Princess and Jenna were already in their uniforms. Jenna turned to the group and said, “Princess and I got here twenty minutes earlier than we’d expected, so we just decided to go ahead and get our uniforms and schedules. We’re in classroom one-A.”

Liz frowned. “I hope we’re in the same class,” she said.

Rune pulled out her PDA. “The likelihood of that is extremely small.”

Liz turned to Rune angry. “Don’t crush my hopes and dreams.”

The girls reached the office and got registered.

Liz sat in a dark corner. “Stupid one-B,” she muttered. Mold seemed to grow all around her as she deepened into the pit of darkness in her mind.

The rest of the group stared at her, frowning. Rune sighed, a small smile slipping her lips as she spoke. “I told you so.”

Liz turned to Rune glaring, her eyes red and puffy from crying. “Shut up!” Then she turned back as she went back into her thoughts. She remembered the way the school determined the classes. “I can’t believe that Rune has both better grades…”

Rune chuckled, turning her head away. “Well, that’s not a shocker there.”

Liz ignored her as she continued on her thought process. “And is more powerful than me. But what about Jenna…”

Thinking for a second, Rune turned to Jenna smiling. “Jenna get’s better grades than all of us and does extracurricular activities, I don’t even know how she maintains to have a social life.”

Jenna shrugged. “I guess it’s a skill I seem to have.” She blushed in embarrassment as she looked at her class schedule.

The twins approached her putting their arms on her head. “At least you’ll be with us. We’ll spend most of our day with each other.” Liz began to cry into her hands as she quivered into fetal position.

Jenna smiled as she pulled her head out of her schedule. “Well, where are we practicing our band at?”

Next thing they knew it, Liz was next to them, her face gave no sign that she was crying, but instead glistened with happiness. “They have, like, six music rooms.” She pointed to Princess. “Princess, choose a random number between one and six.”

“Three!” She jumped up and down holding up three fingers on each hand.

The group clapped as Princess bowed to each of them.

Liz nodded. “Alright, an hour after school gets out we’ll meet in music room three. Don’t forget to look for each other during lunch.”

The group nodded once.

Liz walked off elegantly, she forgot everything but to make her walk look as elegant as possible.

Rune frowned as she stuck up her nose to Liz. “You’re going the wrong way.”

Pretending to ignore the directions, Liz turned around and walked off, past them. The twins slowly followed shaking their heads as they secretly planned a new joke on Liz.

The lunchroom was so large none of them could find each other except the twins and Liz, who stayed with each other and the ones of class-A stayed together.

After school, they met in front of music room three. Each of them had their instruments, Liz had her mike and guitar, Jenna wheeled her drums ahead of her, Rune held her keyboard in one hand and her stand in the other, Star and Elle had their mikes and pushed a cart with the speakers, and Princess sat on the speakers with her bass on her lap.

Liz and Rune pulled open the doors. Rose petals blew past them. Liz and Rune blinked a couple of times as they walked in the light blinding them. They saw a group of men in Romanesque outfits. The group stopped and stared as the group of men spoke “welcome, ladies” at the same time.

A blonde man quickly walked up to them and stared at their cloths and instruments. “Commoners are not allowed in this school,” he said with a flamboyant welcome.

Star leaned into her sister. “Why’s this history club member calling us commoners?” Elle shrugged as they glared darkly at the blonde man.

Rune flipped open her PDA and tapped on it a couple of times. “It seems this is the infamous Host Club. I had no idea that they were located in the music room, I would have figured something less artistic and a little more popular.”

When the group looked around Liz and the blonde man were in opposing corners pouting, mushrooms growing on the man and mold growing on Liz.

A man with dark hair and glasses looked at a boy with brown hair and the twins. “Aren’t a couple of those girls in your class?”

The three people nodded. The twins spoke together in tune, “Yeah, they hung out the whole day together and didn’t talk to anyone, so we’re not really sure about them.”

Then the man with glasses looked at the girls. “Well, these are the new international first year students, most on scholarships. The blonde one with the keyboard and PDA is Rune Romytheus here on an art scholarship, class one-A.  Her mother owns a law firm and her father owns a publishing agency. She’s already published three books and two mangas of her own. The twins pushing the cart are Star and Elle Josephine, class one-B.  Their parents own a fashion magazine and fashion line. Star is a well known model and Elle has her own clothing line within her parents’. The girl sitting on the speakers with the bass is Princess Steam, class one-A.  She’s on a culinary arts scholarship.  Her parents own a many different types of schools in America ranging from art to the prestigious.  She’s well on her way to owning her own restaurants. The one pushing the drum set is Jenna Pallor, class one-A. She’s a commoner on an international scholarship. The one in the corner is Liz Naburi, class one-B.  She’s on two music scholarships for vocal and guitar. Her parents own cancer hospitals own all around the world.”

Liz appeared in between the two groups. “You’ve heard of me?” She grinned wildly, her eyes large a puppy dogs. “I knew my perfect looks and beautiful soul would make it across the Pacific Ocean!”

Star and Elle frowned as they stood next to Liz, they heads facing opposite directions away from Liz. “He’s heard of all of us…”

Liz ignored the three of them as she bowed politely to them. “We’re glad to be here.” She turned her sights on the tall black haired one with the little blonde haired boy on his shoulders.  She blushed hard as stars formed in her eyes. “You guys are all so attractive,” she said without the least bit of modesty.

Rune grabbed Liz and threw her back into the wall, leaving an indent. Jenna and Princess turned to see the indent. Shocked, they turned back to Rune, eyes wide and frightened.

Rune smiled sweetly at the men. “Nice to meet you all, we were just looking for a place to practice our band.”

The boy with short brown hair cocked his head to one side. “What kind of music do you play?”

Jenna smiled as she held up her drumsticks and began to hit the cart lightly in a nice rhythm. “All kinds, we’re good with rock.”

They boy that had spoke approached them with a slight smile on his face. “I’m Haruhi Fijioka.”

The boy with glasses approached Rune. “How rude of us, I’m Kyoya Ohtari, the vice president of this wondeful club.”

The blonde man smiled as he side-glanced them with a red rose in his hand. “I’m Tamaki Suoh, the king.” He took Rune’s hand and kissed it lightly.

Rune frowned as she pulled it away quickly and smacked him. He fell back as she towered over him, glaring. “Don’t touch me!”

The orange haired twins leaned forward and laughed loudly. “You okay boss?”  Tamaki ran and sat in a corner. The twins shrugged as they turned back to the girls. “We’re Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin.”

The little blonde boy jumped off of the tall black haired man and landed in front of Princess. “I’m Mitsukuni Haninozuka but you can call me Hunny.” Princess giggled and blushed lightly.

The tall black haired man smiled slightly that Hunny had jumped off of. “I’m Takashi Morinizuka or Mori.”

Liz ran up behind Rune her eyes seemingly in the shapes of hearts as she ogled them, mainly Mori. “They’re all so dreamy.”

Rune turned her head and glared the most evil one she could muster up. Liz shrunk down quickly behind Jenna. “Jenna! Rune is being mean to me. Her eyes are sucking my soul out of my body. Make it stop!” Jenna chuckled as she patted Liz on the head in between her pigtails.

Jenna thought for a second. “Hey, Rune, when is Faith getting here anyways from Lobelia? I was really hoping to see her in that darn costume. The way she described it sounded hilarious.”

“Lo-” Tamaki and Haruhi said together.

“Bel-“ The twins continued together.

“I-” Hunny and Mori said together.

“A?” Kyoya finished lightly and bored.

Rune glanced up at the men as pulled out her phone, clicking a couple of the buttons. “Faith says she has a club meeting so she won’t be able to attend. Something about the Zuka Club.” She shrugged as she turned to see the new reaction of the men.

“Zuka club?!” The group yelled as their jaws dropped.

Rune eyed them suspiciously and concerned for their mental health.

Liz frowned heavily as she stood up and leaned on the cart on one of the drums. “But she’s our manager; she said she’d get us some gigs at her school and check out ours for some too.” Liz hit one of the drums. “That damn woman, she promised that we would get more gigs than in America. We changed our entire style because SHE said that the Japanese would like it better. We tossed out almost every single song and re-wrote it until she said it was good enough. She said-“

“Shut up, Liz before I tape that mouth shut. We were all there; we all know what she did. But her new school is more important. If she doesn’t keep in good tabs with the school they’ll kick her out in a heartbeat.”  Rune glared back as Liz as Liz stuck out her tongue as, hiding behind Jenna again.

Tamaki turned to Kyoya. The twins smiled at Kyoya also. Pausing to look at them, Kyoya sighed. “If you can play something light and calming, even romantic would do, you can practice here. We like to keep our guests happy and any form of American rock and roll could ruin the mood.”

Liz smiled widely as her and Jenna squealed together. “That’s great! We’ll love the recognition.”

Tamaki walked over to a curtain and pulled it back to reveal a large stage with speakers.

Haruhi’s jaw dropped. “Why is there a stage here?”

The two pairs of twins frowned at her. “Well, it is a music room.” Then Star and Elle pushed the cart up a ramp and hid it behind a curtain. The group set up as quickly as they could. Liz tuned her guitar quickly as the girls came in. None of them really noticed the band. The host club members kept a close eye on them while they tried to keep their ladies entertained.

Liz looked back. “Let’s do ‘Rose Garden’,” the group nodded once as they got into the mood.

As they played the slow romantic song, it set the mood for the place. Liz’s voice sounded like an angel singing love and happiness. The twins’ voices were in perfect tune with each other and were lovely background to Liz. Rune’s keyboarding sounded better than Tamaki’s piano playing. Princess played the bass like it was a guitar, it sounded so professionally wonderful and Jenna’s drumming was beyond amazing, it seemed like she had ten hands playing all at once. They were the perfect band, working together like one entity.

During Rune’s keyboard solo, Liz left her mike and approached the group. “We’ll just go straight into ‘Seven twenty-one’.” They all nodded once.

Liz turned back and finished the song. Then she immediately went into the next song. “It was seven twenty-one when you saw me that one morning. Those three little words changed our world.”   She turned her sights onto Mori. Their eyes met and Liz blushed lightly. “Give me a hug and finish with a kiss. Settle all my fears.”

After the club ended, the band packed up their instruments. A few of the girls approached them and complimented their playing. They even got a gig for a month later for a birthday party. When they finished packing, they wheeled their stuff off the stage.

The Host Club approached them, also complimenting their music.

Hunny smiled widely. “Now let’s eat cake!”

Princess hollered. “Yeah!” Everybody ignored them as Hunny and Princess left to eat cake at a little table and two chairs that were just perfect size for them.

Kyoya and Rune walked off together to talk politics and numbers. The pairs of twins left, devious looks in all of their eyes. Haruhi and Jenna began to chat about rich people jokingly and Tamaki and Liz began to chat about ideas for her band and his host club.  

A few minutes later, Tamaki saw the twins making their way towards Haruhi. “Don’t worry baby, Daddy’s coming!” He sprinted off towards them, his teeth traded in for fangs.

“Who’s daddy?” Liz looked around.

Princess and Hunny began laughing as they talked about their stuffed animal collections. Princess pulled out a stuffed blue bear from her bass bag. “This is my perfect prince, Prince Kapooki.”

Kyoya and Rune began to chat about the bands numbers versus the clubs.  Then they began to talk about ideas to make the band more popular. When Tamaki screamed, they quickly turned to see Tamaki running towards Haruhi with the twins in the background.

“Who’s daddy?” Rune asked, glancing quickly between Kyoya and Tamaki.

“He is.” Kyoya sighed, pressing his glasses against his nose.

Rune cocked an eyebrow, her attention fully on Kyoya but her eyes still rested on the conflict at hand. “So, who’s mommy?”

Kyoya grumbled, pushing his glasses back onto his nose even though they were already on his nose as Rune had noticed earlier. “That would be me.”

Rune started laughing loudly, she bent over continuing her laugh.

Liz stopped and stared. Then she walked over to Princess trying to act like her attention was on her friend, but kept glancing at Mori. She couldn’t help it, he was one of the most attractive men there. “Are you behaving yourself?”

Princess looked up at Liz innocently and then nodded. Hunny laughed as he chomped down on the new piece of cake in front of him. “Would you like to join us for cake?” he asked sweetly.

Liz looked up at Mori, staring for what felt like hours but was hopefully seconds and then turned away. “Sure, Tamaki ditched me for Haruhi.”

Hunny frowned with a fork in his mouth. “I’m so sorry, Liz-chan.”

Mori nodded once. “Don’t take it personally. We’ve all learned to adjust. At least he has yet to call you at six o’ clock in the morning three days into summer claiming that she was stolen.” Hunny and a few of the others stared at Mori oddly.

Hunny held up a piece of cake for her. She gladly accepted, eating it all in one bite. The two small ones laughed and clapped, while Mori’s jaw dropped.

Jenna’s eyes grew as Tamaki jumped onto Haruhi. Haruhi grew angry as she tried to shove Tamaki off of her. “What the hell, Sempai?!”

Jenna got on her knee’s whispering. “Are you guys okay?” She looked at Tamaki frowning, trying to look serious. “Your son looks damaged.”

Tamaki jumped up, his eyes looked like a giant puppy’s as he looked down really worried. “Is my baby hurt?”  When he looked down, Jenna was helping Haruhi up. Then Haruhi slipped on a banana peel as she got up and fell on top of Jenna.

Jenna felt something on her chest. ‘Boobs?’ Jenna blinked a couple of times, staring into Haruhi’s growing feminine eyes. Silence remained with the closest people until Mori got up and picked Haruhi up. Jenna’s jaw dropped as she pushed herself up with her elbows. “You’re a girl?”

All of the girls turned their sights onto Haruhi, Jenna, and Mori. Mori sat Haruhi down and side stepped back to Liz, Princess and Hunny.

Liz leaned in to him as she stared at Haruhi, disbelieving. “Good intention, bad result.” Mori nodded once while he glanced down at her, studying her face.

The two pairs of twins approached Haruhi and Jenna. Hikaru and Kauru looked at Jenna oddly then up at Kyoya questioningly. “Now what do we do with them?”

Kyoya sighed, pushing up his glasses again. Rune glanced up at him and cocked her head. Kyoya ignored her as he said, “Well, we really can’t do anything, missing international students would cause too much of an uproar” The girls chuckled lightly but stopped suddenly when the men didn’t laugh. “Just their word not to tell anyone will have to do.”

The group of girls came together, chatted, what seemed to the men, mindlessly for a few minutes. Liz looked at Rune and nodded a couple of times as the other girls patted Rune on the back as she turned to the men, smiling evilly. “Alright, we’ll keep the secret but on one condition.”

The men looked anxiously at each other. Kyoya nodded as he closed the notebook nobody ever saw him open. “What is it?”

“We get a guaranteed gig with each meeting.” Rune said with a false-innocent smile.

Princess leaned in, whispering loudly so that everyone in the room could hear. “And I get to eat cake with Hunny-Sempai whenever I want.”

Rune rolled her eyes as she shook her head. When she stopped, she looked up back into Kyoya’s eyes. “And that too.”

The twins smiled as they leaned in and Princess leaned out. “And the twins”… “Will be out mentors”… “In tricks.”

“No!” Kyoya and Rune said together as quickly as they possibly could.

“Hell no!” Rune added quickly, turning her head to the twins, glaring manically.

The twins pouted, retreating to hide behind Jenna. Then they whispered to each other. “We’ll do it anyways.” But then louder they said, “We want to learn how to play the ‘which one’s Hikaru game’.”

Rune sighed, resting her hands on her hips. “Fine, that one too.”

Jenna smiled slightly. “And I get homework help from Kyoya.”

“No!” Rune yelped. Kyoya cocked an eyebrow as Rune looked around quickly and smiled slightly. “Well,Haruhi is…looks much smarter. It’ll be with Haruhi.” Rune nodded once confidently and then smiled slightly. “And we want a percentage of the clubs profits.”

Kyoya frowned. “What percentage are you asking?”

“Fifty percent.”

“One.”

“Forty-five.”

“Two.”

“Forty.”

“Three.”

“Thirty five.”

Kyoya sighed. “Ten.”

Liz leaned in to Rune. “Take it. I don’t think he’s going to give us much more than that…”

Rune rolled her eyes. “Thirty.”

“Fifteen.”

“Twenty-five.”

“Fifteen.”

Elle pulled out her phone. “Get the publicist…”

Rune ignored her, frowning heavily. “I’m negotiating.”

Kyoya smiled slightly, roses appearing all around him as he did. “How about ten percent, but we’ll set up a table so you can start a Hostess blub and keep ninety percent of those profits.”

Rune hesitated. “Deal…”

Then everyone’s eyes turned to Liz. She looked up from the ground. “What?”

Princess smiled. “Do you have a condition too.”

Liz looked up and then looked away. “I’d like Mori-Sempai to take me on as a martial arts apprentice.”

Mori’s jaw dropped as the male twins laughed slightly. “Good luck getting that, last time someone did that, it turned into a very strange episode.”

Tamaki laughed. “So, how about it Mori-sempai?” Mori paused before nodding his okay. Then men’s jaws dropped.

Kyoya turned to the girls. “I guess you have a deal then.”
